I live on the waterway between the state of Washington and British Columbia. Sequim Washington to be exact. I live at an elevation where I can see the valley below at about 4 miles; the San Juan de Fuca shipping lanes is about 10~15 and Canada is about 20~30 miles. I would like to get a telescope and stand that has the range and capability of viewing these diverse distances and would look nice in my living room. Portability and size would not be an issue. Range of magnification and clarity are the primary features. What type and or Manufacturer would you recommend?
